[C'mon, Ren, it worked on SO MANY LEVELS. Base/Bass, Space/Bass, Space Cadets as in crazy people that don't know when to stop or when puns are not meant to be stretched as far as Ryuji loves to stretch them. He's so cheery at the idea, that he misses a sentence or two of what the other has to say and he performs a mental backtrack to try and make sense of things. It was definitely a sign of things to come as the next few days would have him doing that so much that he would practically stop understanding people altogether. Loud music has a really good way of drowning out thoughts.

Kind of why he loved it growing up. You don't have to hear things you don't want to hear when you're listening to music. Yeah. Enough said.]
