Midnighter The Bouncer.

Midnighter came here to be a bouncer. He is bouncering. Standing quietly and as unobtrusively as a six-foot-five mountain of muscle can, he listens to the flow of the conversation, and rarely interjects.

Verbally, anyway. If he thinks your comment is dumb, he'll roll his eyes. If he thinks your comment is especially dumb, he'll make a jerking-off motion with his hand.

He's great at deescalation, trust him.

Kira literally came here to make dumb comments but mostly to cause chaos and so that's what he's doing the whole time. Catch him winking back at Midnighter and mouthing 'Call me' when he catches him making a jerking-off motion.

Really though, he's loud about his intentions to start shit and he knows the people in charge got their panties all twisted over it.

Midnighter rolls his eyes and returns the flirtation (obviously facetious, and how old is that kid? Some of these fuckers, it's hard as shit to tell...) with one (1) middle finger. He shakes his head, dismissive, and turns to look in a different direction.

Genuinely, he's unsure what to make of that; when in doubt, pretend you're better than something.

Millions of years old BUDDY. Not that he's telling anyone that right off the bat. Kira's grin just widens as he watches the guy. That's the security??? Well, it was more security than the last meeting, in all fairness, so it WAS 100% better by default, but Kira was PRETTY PUMPED to cause some trouble now.

"So what's the plan now, then? Order, or violence to enforce order?" he scoffed. "Fuckin' typical. You got nothin' better to do than try to intimidate people into shutting the fuck up and sitting the fuck down?"

Bobbie is also standing on the sidelines, watching everyone talk and/or argue about the long, long list of topics. Midnighter isn't exactly being subtle, so after a bit, Bobbie makes her way over, keeping her voice low so she doesn't interrupt the meeting.

"Not a fan, huh?"

He inclines his head slightly, his voice pitched to a stage whisper. Shrugging, he says, "saw this movie once, y'know. Person's smart, people're stupid?" He gestures to the crowd. "Helluva lotta people here tonight."

Her lips quirk up at that. "Hopefully the smart ones can keep the rest in line. I'm not one for politics."

[thingpuncher]

A sidelong glance. "Then why the hell'd you show up?" Aggressive language, but without genuine aggression. This is a man who defaults to conflict, even when he's not in a conflicting mood.

[marineris]

She shrugs. Truth be told, she's used to that level of aggression. "Because I want to know what's going on, and if things go south, I want to be here. What about you?"

[thingpuncher]

"Because it's worth the effort. Hey, you wanna know if it goes to shit because you wanna prevent it or jmp ship?"

It's a blunt fucking question, but Midnighter's never been accused of egregious subtlety.

"Because I want to prevent it," she replies. Being blunt is far preferable to beating around the bush. "And I want to see what I can help with."

Midnighter grins. "Noble of you. Always doing this kinda superhero shit?"

[marineris]

She snorts at that, incredulous. "It's not superhero shit, it's common sense. I don't want everyone to eat each other alive. Have you ever seen a riot on a station this size? It's not pretty."
