There is a wolf wandering around the station. A large wolf. A large white wolf with blue eyes.

Because he woke up in a chamber near the gym, that's where he's likely to be found, but he's wandering now, trying to sniff out something, anything, to tell him what's going on. Now, of course, he's not just a wolf. He's also a man by the name of Garion (or Belgarion, technically) but given that a wolf can cover distances much faster than a human can, that he'll have the advantage of a nose that can sniff out nearly anything on his muzzle, and the fact that between his teeth and his claws, he'll have more a weapon in that form should he encounter anything dangerous...

He's always scouted as a wolf. Really, this is no change. Or he tries to remind himself it's very little change, even though he can't sense his Aunt Pol or his Grandfather or even Durnik anywhere. Even though his wife is nowhere to be found and he can't smell her, not even on his own skin, not on the clothing he woke up in. Neither his wife nor his children and it's upsetting on two legs, but on four, it just gives him a sense of urgency.

So if you happen to see a rather large white wolf near the mess or the bar area or one of the crew quarters or just in the hallways, well...

He's as new to this as you are.

Rhea'li lets out a quiet laugh. That's true. Unless the very big rock didn't kill you. Then that would be terrible.

"You are an adventurer, then? Or merely a traveller?"

"I wouldn't know the difference between the two," he admits with a shrug. "Though I suppose I've traveled more for what some would call 'adventure' even if I mostly thought it was more trouble than anything."

Well, I know it's happened at least once. Maybe the legend came from that.

"Not at the moment," he says after a nod or two, because he took that in. It's useful information. But-

"Because if I focus on that, I won't be able to get anything done."

She looks his way without ever slowing down. What a strange creature. Elektra lets out a soft laugh as she regards him. "Do you want to play fetch? Is that it?" She truly doesn't know what to make of it. "Or is this your way of asking for help? Because I am busy." She reminds him. What? Talking to an animal is normal when Frank does it so why not her?

A smile stretches across his face.

"Then might you share some stories?" He waves his hands as he speaks, the tips of his ears twitching. "One does not travel and have nary a tale to tell!"

[ Haruto wonders whether he's from the same universe as this wolf-man. His rational mind doubts it, but really, how could he know whether yokai were real or not? They're certainly real in at least one universe. ]

So you're... one quarter wolf. [ He moves to the fabricator and tries, for the seventy-fourth time, to ask for rice. And, for the seventy-fourth time, he receives some kind of grey slop. ] I assume the rest of you is human?

"What are you trying to get done?"

Amos had to wonder what a guy like Garion could do. What was he looking to do?

"Oh, I'll happily share a story or two," he says with a nod. "But only if you share in return."

It's probably a bit less than that. She's more of my great great great great great great-

[ He pauses there ]

Suffice to say there's a lot of 'greats'. It's been some centuries. But most of my family lives a very long time.

But I'd assume so. I've always figured I was human.

[ ...he's not, really. ]

"I'd like to know why we're here," he says honestly, "and I'm trying to figure that out."

He gestures around them.

"It seems as if we were all brought here. And the message indicated that they were trying to accomplish something. To me, I'd assume we were brought to finish the mission that they couldn't."

There's a huff of a noise at the mention of 'fetch' because he's not a dog, thank you, but the question about 'help', he answers with a shake of a head. Instead, he starts walking around the device, pausing to look at the pieces, how they move, how they work. It's not circling prey; there's no sense of danger or menace or intent from him. Just curiosity.

Sword? Alright then. He is careful not to react with much surprise to anything he's saying. There's a lot going on with this young man, and Erik wants to know what. Making him feel like a freak is likely to make him shut down. "Garion. I'm Henryk." He repeats the head bowing gesture, assuming it's some kind of greeting in lieu of a handshake.

"i'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I've just never seen anybody with this particular ability before." Raven only took the form of other people. Erik doesn't know if she could transform into animals. He's not sure if she ever tried. And that makes him wonder if all telepaths can talk to animals and Nina's the only one who ever chose to do that instead of reading the minds of people.

But that's a question Garion can't answer. "What happens to your clothes?"

"Well done, Detective Obvious. With you on board, we're going to get to the bottom of this in a few hours."

Amos knows he's being an asshole, but he can't stop himself. He leans in a little closer, elbows on the table.

"Where do we go from here, then?"

If Amos was, say, his Aunt Pol or his Grandfather or even Silk, that barb might have had some sting. But given that Amos might as well have been a Tolnedran trade comissioner, as far as he's concerned... he simply raises an eyebrow as if to say that yes, it was supposed to be obvious, please, catch up. But he doesn't stick to it, instead moving on.

"I've been trying to figure out the purpose each one of the people here might be able to serve. And I've been searching to see what clues I can find, since I've been able to see things others couldn't before."

He tilts his head just a little at Amos, as if to ask if he had another question.

Garion waves off the apology, since he's the last person to complain about someone who asks questions. It would be a bit hypocritical of him at this stage of the game, after all. As for the next question-

"From what my Grandfather says, it sort of goes into an inbetween place, a little pocket somewhere, until I change back. He never explained it much and I've never been given the benefit of a tower and a thousand years to figure it out so that's unfortunately the best answer I have."

Rhea'li lets out a quiet chuckle. "Of course. I'm no bard, but I've a tale or two to tell... after I hear one of yours."

[ Interesting. If most of his family lives "a very long time," maybe he isn't human after all?

[ That isn't his name, but he has to at least try to stick to the same story he's set up for himself. ]

Erik takes a seat because this is a lot. He rests his chin on his hand. "Your clothing goes into a pocket dimension when you shapeshift. Incredible." He can't wait to tell Raven about this. If only she were here. He has so many questions about the differences and this young man can only answer one half of them.

"Your grandfather has been living in a tower for a thousand years." Suddenly, he's grateful he has no grandchildren. "Do you ever let him out?"

"Oh yeah? What can you see that I can't?"

He keeps going, because if the guy does have some kind of ability like that, it could be useful, and Amos is all about usefulness on this barge. So many people around are... well, useless.

"Well, I suppose I'll have to figure out if you'd like a fantastical tale or a funny one," he says with a thoughtful scratch to his chin. "Though you're welcome to give me a hint."

[ Garion offers a bow of his head to the name.]

I'm generally known as Garion.

[ There were other names and titles, but he usually preferred Garion.]

"I didn't say he'd been in it," he points out, "he just has one. And from what I understand, most of the times when he's spent centuries in it have been his own choice."

And what he wouldn't do to have that kind of quote unquote free time sometimes. He wouldn't want to give up what he has to get it, though. That's quite literally what he wouldn't do, to be fair.

"He was trying to figure out something or other. That's generally what he does in his tower, from what I understand."

"I can see something like a skin on everything around us," he says after a moment, "all the pieces of this place. Something that makes my power just... slide off of it, like oil and water."
