Bobbie Draper | The Expanse

1

[Suddenly, with no warning whatsoever, they lose gravity.

This isn't as terrible as it could be. Keeping her mag boots engaged at all times is safety 101 on a ship, but she's been making a habit of it on this station, too. It's so decrepit that she didn't trust those rings to keep spinning. She stays firmly planted to the metal floor, hair floating in long, loose curls around her face. More importantly, everything else is floating, because nothing at all on this station is secured. Bobbie lets out a soft, frustrated breath, pulls her hair back into a messy ponytail, and makes her way down the hallway. It takes her almost no time at all to run into someone who wasn't lucky enough to engage their boots, and is now floating with no way down.]

Hey! Need some help?

[Bobbie is in a vac suit, standing near one of the airlocks, her helmet under one arm, hair pulled into a tight bun on top of her head. She looks utterly at ease in this situation—she should, considering she was trained for this. Her mag boots are engaged and she studying each person who approaches the airlock door, trying to gauge how comfortable they are with this. She knows there are other people used to space travel on the station, but she also knows the majority aren't.]

Hey there. Have you ever gone on a spacewalk before?

closed to Alex!

[Now that they've actually got a plan (though a basic one), and they've made sure no one is going to suffocate out in the black, Bobbie makes one more round around the station and then heads for an airlock, already suited up, hair in a tight bun on her head. She isn't surprised to find Alex there, but the fact that he's trying to pull on a suit of his own stops her short. She stares at him for a moment, struggling to get it on with one arm, and when she finally speaks up, her tone is incredulous.]

What are you doing?
