[ they hadn't actually gotten to know each other too well before one of them had decided they liked the effects of the alcohol enough to ignore the taste of it (wanda had managed about half of whatever she'd been drinking before leaving him to it). she's not typically in the habit of trusting others to have her back that haven't earned it, but given recent events at home, maybe she'll be better off with a stranger. or two, as they end up picking up another woman to join them as they explore.
it's more or less uneventful at first. no one does much talking (these two know each other, wanda senses, but there's tension there that she doesn't care to explore mentally or by asking). frank's pushing and her energy beams don't seem to have any effect, and after a while the routine gets almost boring. until one door makes her stop in her tracks, turning her full attention to it.
something feels wrong with this one. she glances to her right where frank has stopped and can tell he knows it too, maybe not in the visceral way that she does, but in a way that makes him just as wary. he's a bit closer to it, karen coming even closer as she moves to try it, and she's standing too far back and karen's moving too fast for her to stop. ]
