Everlasting true love, I am yours'
» WHO? Jennifer (
theunluckygirl) & you
» WHEN? Mid-june ig
» WHERE? Chapel, observation deck, AROUND
» WHAT? Bit of a catch-all intro log
» WARNINGS? Possible nongraphic mention of animal death, bullying, abuse.
A: Chapel
[Jennifer wishes she could say that waking up on cold floors was something new and unusual. When she comes to consciousness there's a stray, dry thought that she should find this a bit more alarming, but instead she sighs and turns, stretching out.
it's then she quickly realizes things are Off. First off, she's not wearing her dress anymore. Pants? She's never worn pants except for when Gregory was making her pretend to be his son. What in the world...
Jennifer is up and about within seconds. She looks herself over, she turns the communicator around in her hands. She takes careful stock of herself and her surroundings, removing her rose brooch from a pocket and feeling relieved to still have that.
The chapel is the first thing to be explored, her eyes wide and bright with confusion. It's all so...alien.
...Was it alien? Was she abducted? There had been whispers and stories of things like that, but she'd hardly paid any attention to them before, but now, standing in this Chapel place, she could possibly believe it. She was pretty sure it wasn't part of the Airship or the orphanage...
While she doesn't say anything, it might be obvious that she's new from just how terribly lost she is.]
B: Observation
[The noise she makes upon stumbling--almost literally--into the observation deck area is not a happy one. It's more like a sound of anguished despair; her communicator and brooch hit the floor, skittering loudly across it as her hands fly up to her mouth.
She's too overwhelmed to even cry, just staring with wide-eyed shock at the expanse of stars before her.] My God... [She whispers, taking unsteady steps toward the glass. Her hands grip tightly to each other, eyes flitting from one star to the next, to the planet--Earth? No. Two moons.]
It's so-- It's so much... [She doesn't know how else to respond to this, unable to tear her eyes away.]
C: Wildcard
[Jennifer can be found wandering the station with quiet, uncertain stps. She's just poking her head in everywhere, looking more like a frightened dog than a person. If she catches anyone's attention, she quickly drops her gaze and ducks her head, muttering apologies and fidgeting.
Help her.]

B.
Another newcomer. Poor thing.]
More than perhaps any of us know.
[He pauses.] Forgive me. I did not mean to arrive unannounced. I presume you just woke up here, my lady?

I-I... [A deep breath. A slow exhale. Her shoulders begin to slump in something like defeat or resignation to this strange turn of events] Yes. Not too long ago, by, um... the chapel?
[She looks to the windows, flinches at the sight, and looks away again] It's... hard to believe any of this is real, but there it is, staring me in the face... I can't turn away from it and pretend otherwise, but I... [She doesn't know where to go with this revelation</small.]
no subject
I know.
[Alucard's voice is soft, understanding.]
Reaching the stars was a concept in just theories, possibilities. To be here and facing that very idea as reality is overwhelming. To be so far away from all that you know.
It is an adjustment. But you are not alone in it.
no subject
I-- ...I'm sorry. [She's not sure what she's apologizing for, just that apologizing seems to be the right thing to do for 98% of the life.] I'll... have to get used to it... That's all there is to it.
[A deep breath, a slow exhale.] ...I'm sorry. You-- You've been very kind. I didn't mean to take up your time.
no subject
[Her anxieties are understandable to him. It'll take time to adapt. Though he comes from a place of strange events, he couldn't assume that was true for all people.]
Right now, my time is yours if you need it. I merely come here to think on occasion.
[A polite bow is given.] Call me Alucard. I am currently acting as this station's doctor and surgeon, though I hope my services will not be needed.
no subject
His admittance to being the station's doctor has her looking up again though, interest piqued.] Pleased to meet you, Mr. Alucard. [Though she's wearing one of those jumpsuits, she curtsies anyhow, somewhat.]
A doctor? That' very impressive. I-- [She pauses, hesitating, and looks uncertain if she should really be talking so much before she continues] I was... thinking about becoming a nurse, to help with-- With the war efforts... [Which, now that she thinks about it, she has n idea the status of that now either.]
no subject
[It's likely hard to pick out, but there is some subtle humor in there. Granted, he knows very little of this girl, but already he'd rather but stuck in a room with her than several people in this place.]
A war. [That has his curiosity, but first:] If you have any desire to learn, then you may join me in the clinic. I have two others helping and learning; I would not mind another.
But I would need to know your name, first.
no subject
She looks conflicted about the offer as well, wary, like she's not sure if it's genuine or if he's just being polite or something.]
If... you really wouldn't mind... But I don't want you to feel obligated.
no subject
[Wherever she's come from, it's been enough to impact her behavior. What causes her to frighten so easily, he wonders.]
It is no trouble. The more assistance I have, the better prepared we will be. When you are better acclimated, I can show you the clinic, if you like.
I know it is a sudden offer, but I don't think we particularly have time to be conservative in our choices, should we wish to escape this place.
no subject
[But she shakes her head and looks embarrassed, gaze falling to the floor in shame] I-I'm just... Not used to that sort of thing. Forgive me if I respond, um... strangely...
no subject
[He doesn't view himself as especially kind or gentle, but he does remain polite.]
Not in the least. We all come from strange and different places, many of us needing to adapt. [Alucard offers his arm out to Jennifer, ever the gentleman.]
Come, if you would like.
no subject
I, um... Y-yes, alright. [She takes his arm and smiles lightly] Thank you very much. May I ask, where are you from?
no subject
I was last in the city of Targoviste in the country of Wallachia. Not many across the world know of it, it seems, but that's just as well.
[Alucard walks calmly, guiding her away into the hall, heading in the direction of the clinic.]
And you?
no subject
Actually, the idea of totally different Earths--or not!Earths--hadn't even occurred to her until just then and she feels a bit dizzy from the possibilities. It's Alucard's question that brings her back to reality and she shakes her head a little to clear it.]
I'm afraid I must be counted among those who don't know of it. I, um. I was from London, England. It was 1940, the mile of the war... [She trails off, expression a bit distant]
no subject
[A year so distant from him. He didn't want to overwhelm her with information, but he doesn't wish to lie, either.]
The year was 1475 before I was taken here.
no subject
[But then she sort of stumbles, her foot catching in surprise at the year.] 1475?! [Immediately she turns red an ducks her head, cringing at herself] I-I'm sorry, it just... caught me off guard. I can't imagine how much more difficult adjusting was for you over my own petty complaining...
no subject
[It's a vague response, but sincere all the same. He could not say it is good or bad, but it has caused unnecessary pains.]
It's quite all right. [He remains still, letting her find her feet again.] I had the luxury of being raised by a scientist and a doctor. I knew some of these possibilities were out here, but to actually accomplish it is another.
There is nothing petty about adjusting as you need. We both have very different experiences.
no subject
[She's quick to bounce back from her embarrassing stumble though, tilting her head curiously] Is that why you have an interest in medicine? Because of your parents?
