[OPEN] nightcall
» WHO? Alucard & YOU
» WHEN? Anytime during May.
» WHERE? Various locations! They are listed in the prompts.
» WHAT? Alucard catch-all. Open prompts within!
» WARNINGS? N/A
❧ I. supply run [BAR]
[It was becoming quick to see that leaving this place would not be happening anytime soon. As the days continue to go by, the truth becomes obvious, and Alucard realizes that he does need to make sure they all live, no matter how he might feel about it. The more hands on deck, the more likely they will be able to escape.
And somehow, he will find his way back to Wallachia.
A year, he tells himself. He has a year to make this right.
And so, mentally, Alucard prepares himself as possibly the closest thing this place has to a doctor. He is trained in many ways, and in his heart he knew he'd always wanted to follow in his mother's footsteps rather than his father's, but...
As he steps into the bar, he lets out a tired sigh. There is no time to spare thoughts to the past. He is needed here, now, and he must delay his recovery as much as possible, no matter how ferociously hungry or exhausted he is.
Calmly, Alucard steps over the counter, reaching the drinks in the back. He places aside various opened bottles, disinterested, until he encounters one with a clear liquid. Taking off the cap, he gives it a sniff, then nods to himself in satisfaction before placing it into the bucket he's carrying with him.]
❧ II. sleepy beepy [SHOWERS]
[There's the distinct sound of water running, and it seems to have been for sometime. Steam has long since clogged the area, condensation dripping along the walls and mirrors.
On the floor is Alucard, collapsed, a bucket tipped over with a puddle of water pooling the floor.
He is breathing. That much one can tell.]
❧ III. in wolf's clothing [OBSERVATION DECK]
[Here resides a wolf. Strange, perhaps, it is to see a beast when the station seems to only have people aboard it.
The canine is slightly larger than likely most wolves anyone has seen or imagined. Though as impressive as that is, the wolf is curled up on the floor, gazing out the observation deck, looking either tired or even sad.
It does seem to be aware of company, his ears flicking, but not responding any further. A small boof escapes him.
Not exactly a conversation, but he doesn't seem eager to be aggressive.]
❧ IV. wildcard
[Make your own prompt, or request a custom one!]

Figure you'd do the same for me, right? [Not that he actually knew this man at all - didn't even know to connect it to the conversation he'd had on the network.]
Name's Alex, by the way.
no subject
It is a common name, but...]
I would certainly try.
Alucard.
no subject
Oh, we spoke on the network. [Which means he's currently strolling with a vampire.
... Right. Well. Shit. Well - they were all in it together, but that made the fainting make a little more sense. His expression turned a little worried.]
Your uh - exhaustion have anything to do with nutrition? [It was the most round about way he could find to ask about blood. This place was so damn weird.]
no subject
It's... related, somewhat. But not in the way you may think, exactly.
[A cryptic answer. Alex had been friendly enough, but he's testing the water so to speak -- to see how much is worth sharing.]
no subject
Well from what you said earlier, my guess would be that you haven't eaten in a while. [He sounds - not queasy, exactly, but a little uncomfortable. He hasn't moved, though, his body language still reads calm and he hasn't started edging away. His expression is far more worried for Alucard than it is about him.]
no subject
[The tone is not unexpected. Human blood has fed him for years, and will for many more years to come, but never without their consent. Not that many would assume as such, and for good reason. How might a lamb trust a wolf? The body language, though, is far kinder than he'd expect.
And that is enough for his decision.
Eventually, they do make their arrival to Alucard's room. It is one of the family rooms, but not yet used from the looks of it. It's not as if Alucard has any belongings to place inside, but he hasn't opted to use the bed yet, either.
As the door closes, Alucard turns and faces Alex, taking the bucket and placing it aside for now. He raises his hands, slowly unworking the zipper to the jumpsuit.
And he pushes off the top to show his wound on his chest. One single strike, barely scabbed over, looking to tear open again at any moment. A normal man would not have lived.]
If I were under more favorable circumstances, I would sleep for months to allow this to heal with a healthy stock of blood at my disposal.
But we are not in such a position. It is hard to control when I sleep, and I must be awake and prepared for others. My strength is but a shred of what it should be.
Do you understand?
no subject
[He had almost stepped over to touch the scar - might have, if this were his crew - but remembered at the last second that they were technically strangers and that was probably a bit much, so he stopped where he was. His brows furrowed down, mouth a thin, concerned line as he took it in, before raising his gaze back up to Alucard's eyes.]
Yeah, we ain't exactly in a position where anyone is safe being out that long. Who knows what this place is gonna throw at us. [He looked back down at the scar and shook his head.]
Damn. I can barely believe you're standin', with that thing. I think I can forgive you a few naps.
no subject
[Alucard frowns and shakes his head.] I did not show you seeking forgiveness, but for you to understand. A few bouts of rest will not be enough to heal me quickly.
At this rate, I don't know how long it will take for me to completely recover. But I must, no more than a year from now.
[He stops abruptly, then sighs as he pulls the sleeves of the top half of the suit back on.]
I suppose if you find me asleep elsewhere, you will know why.
no subject
Yeah. Alright, I get what you mean, now. Damn.
[He noted the 'one year', his brow furrowing a little further.]
What happens if you haven't recovered in a year?
no subject
[It's phrased vaguely, as many of his statements. But it's more than he's shared with most, admittedly.]
no subject
Well, given how far out we seem to be-- [He started that train of thought, but then ended it abruptly. He didn't want to think about it. None of the stars were the same. If they were thousands of lightyears away -
Hell.
His son could already be dead and dust generations ago.
He looks a little queasy, then shakes his head.]
-- All I'm sayin' is, let's focus on the here and now.
Is there a way you'd recover faster?
no subject
[The question earns a look of discomfort from Alucard, and he considers a moment before letting out a sigh.]
Ideally, I would be sleeping for at least a dozen months with gallons of blood at my disposal. There is not enough blood here for anyone to give, nor would I demand it.
Perhaps if someone had healing spells, that would help -- but I have encountered no such person.
The only other thing I can consider is if there was... perhaps empowered blood of some kind. Something supernatural. Though I have had a devil's blood and it was stronger than I would have thought, it was not enough, and I dare not take more from her in case it would hurt her.
no subject
It's been a long week. ]
You had - devil - wait, go back a second there, partner. Who?
no subject
[He raises a brow.] You were not aware? There are three devils aboard this station. I would not take it negatively, the one I speak to often is quite kind.
no subject
Swear this place gets weirder every damn day. But no - ain't met 'em, yet, apparently. Been spendin' a lot of my time tryin' to find the Captain. But I'll uh - I guess I'll keep an eye out for 'em.
no subject
no subject
[ For all his 'god damns', Alex is an atheist. ]
I'll just take 'em as they come, I guess. Same as everyone.
[ A base level of trust, until the bullets started to fly. ]
no subject
It's fascinating. To see what people believe in, or brush off as a myth. Though perhaps the rules are just different where you're from.
But that is perhaps for the best. One step at a time.
no subject
I don't know how to explain nearly anythin' of the people I've encountered here - to most of them, livin' on Mars is about as mythical as devils are to me.
no subject
But both can be true. I was raised to comprehend both. Spells, shapeshifting, divination. Medicine, compounds, surgeries. I suspect the same will be done here.
no subject
Well. If it does, you give me a holler. 'Cause I'd like to see it, if I can. Already watched a man float glasses with his mind, so. Ain't even gonna be as sceptical as I once was.
no subject
I've kept you long enough. I thank you for your help, Alex.
no subject
You just take care of yourself, alright? Try not to pass out in the showers, again.
