one. finding his vac suit. open.
It was just routine, by now, for him to go down to the airlock and check over the vac suits - make sure none of them were leaking and that they were all ready to go in case of an emergency. So he was mostly running on autopilot, as he headed down there, but as he walked past the airlock door he caught sight of something through the view port. He stopped dead, before quickly hitting the access panel, the door sliding open.
Inside waited a suit - specifically, a Martian vac suit. He felt like he was seeing things, as he walked up to it. It wasn't just any vac suit, though. It had all the scuffs and scratches and marks as his suit, from the Roci. He touched it carefully, then turned to look at whoever had stopped to see his surprise, and said, "I ain't sure I should be askin' any questions, but damn. This is mine. Have they had this the whole time?
two. finding the rest of his gear. semi-closed to roci crew / close cr.
He didn't want to leave the vac suit in the airlock - wanted to get Amos to take a fine toothed comb over the thing - so he carried it back to the shared quarters. He set it up in a corner, fussing a little bit, when he spotted something in the bathroom.
"What the --"
He found the little tray of cucumber sandwiches, and pulled them back out into the main room. "What the hell am I even lookin' at?"
A little while later, with a surprised sound, he found his clothes folded up, and changed into his Tachi jumpsuit and shirt, immediately feeling more comfortable once both of them were on. There was another shirt, too, which seemed more like Bobbie's size than his, and an extra communicator in his pocket. Whenever either of them wandered into the room, he'd hold out the item and say, "Think this one is better off with you."
Later, he'd find the bottle of gin in his toilet, and almost laugh as he pulled it out. He knew exactly where that was going. He pulled out his communicator and pinged Miller with the message: Got somethin' for you, gumshoe.
Wildcard
[ OOC: Ask me for a prompt, or feel free to see Alex wandering around in his new digs, or in his suit about to take a test trip out the airlock. He disappeared for 48 hours before this, so feel free to ask where the hell he's been. ]

"I think that counts," she says quietly, her arm wrapping around his middle.

A little while later he slowly comes back to the waking world, and the first thing he noticed was the weight pressed into his side. His memory was instant, and wonderful, and he couldn't help but think about it for a few more minutes before slowly leaning in to press a kiss to Bobbie's forehead. That was the same as a hello, right?
no subject
"Hey."

He lazily brushes hair from her forehead, gazing down at her with unbridled affection. He let his knuckles graze her jaw.
He should probably say something else, but he was so content at the moment that he found it impossible to move or speak, and could do nothing more.

"How long did you let me sleep?"
no subject
His fingers paused, swallowing as his heart felt too big for his chest. There was a lot he wanted to say - a lot he wanted to ask - but he didn't know where to start and probably shouldn't just start babbling. Especially if she was going to fall asleep on him. So he waited.
no subject
"Nah, I'm okay."
no subject
"Alright," he murmured, and that was all he could quite bring himself to say for a while - the rest of it all jumbled up in his chest with an almost painful warmth. Eventually, however, the quiet affection of the moment relaxed him to the point where he could actually manage to string a sentence together.
"... Think maybe I should wear that suit more often," he murmured, a gentle tease.

There was the slightest pause as he turned the words over in his mind. He wet his lips, watching her face.
"I also got the impression that this might be somethin' you're interested in on a more..." He trailed off, looking for the word. Official? No. Christ, he was no good at this-- "... regular basis," he finished lamely.

"Yeah," she says gently, leaning down to sneak a quick kiss. "I thought we were on the same page about that. It's not like I'm looking at anyone else."
no subject
"Just never exactly talked about it," he murmured quietly. "So I figured we were in the same chapter, at least, but same page is somethin' else." He paused, hesitating, raising his hand to take Bobbie's chin and hold it far enough away that she could read his face, and he could read hers.
"You're my best friend in the whole damn world, gunny," he murmured, his voice audible only because of how quiet the room was. "But you gotta know you're a lot more than that, too."
no subject
"Sounds to me like we're on the same page," she replies quietly. "I'm not doing this just to pass the time."
no subject
"I ain't lookin' at anyone else, either," he murmured gently. Or thinking about anyone else, if Bobbie was worried. "So if you want me, Bobbie Draper, you've got me."
no subject
"Sounds like you're stuck with me then, sailor."
no subject
He wasn't sure why he'd been so damn worried about it, all tangled up on what was said and left unsaid. Because now it just sort of felt like this was the inevitable conclusion. Like hers was a gravity well he simply couldn't escape.
Even if he wanted to.
