[To say Marina has no idea where she is would be an understatement. This place is so fundamentally different from where she last remembers being that she's in real danger of whiplash. There's grimy metal all around her, and that's interesting, but it's also alarming. She can feel her ink pumping in her ears. She moves from the walls to the center of the room, touching the central tubing gently, like she's worried it might break. Technology all around her, she can't help the fear that she's back in Octarian territory--but this isn't octo tech. She would know.]
What is this place?
B; Observation Deck
[Space. This is space. She doesn't recognize that planet, with one extra moon and too much land. Hands pressed to the window, she gapes out at it all the same. This is impossible, absolutely impossible. She's dizzy from the impossibility of it. Actually, she doesn't feel great in general, but that's not really surprising, given the situation. She pushes her tentacles back away from her face.]
Okay. Okay, there has to be an explanation. A reasonable explanation.
[She's not panicking. Okay, maybe a little. Her head hurts.]

b. i heard you were in need of reasonable explanations
Even in his completely distracted state, he recognizes the confused look of a new being in a lame station provided jumpsuit. Like a lost lamb waiting for the inevitability of slaughter...
He laughs! Maybe louder than he normally would have.]
Kekeke...!
[Of course he's not going to just go up to someone and have a conversation with them. No. The very concept would be beneath a being like himself. Besides what did he truly care if this being was lost and confused? These were not matters of concern for an Overlord of his prominence! All he desired in this world was silence and solitude!
Although if she happened to be directly speaking to him... he might be persuaded to reply.]
thanks gundam

Kekeke... fuahaha.... HAHAHAHA!
As if anything truly worthwhile in this world could be obtained so easily just because it is desired!

You may call me The Supreme Overlord of Ice! Gundam Tanaka!
May you never forget it as long as you live!

is she still hallucinating? she kind of feels like she's probably hallucinating. so she's not entirely in the best state of mind when she says, without even announcing her presence first: ]
It's a chapel. A place of worship.
[ venus is a sight to behold, even in her jumpsuit. the eyes on her wings are fully functional, about half of them trained on marina while the other half look casually around the room. a light radiates off her entire body, lighting the corridors behind her better than any of the flickering fluorescent lights could. her left arm appears to vanish at the shoulder, and the fingertips on her right arm are translucent by this point too.
it doesn't stop her from reaching up with her right hand tapping gingerly at her own hair. ]
I like it. Your, uh, hairstyle? It looks good.

Marina's eyes go to the wings at first--how can they not? There are all those eyes, some looking at her and some looking at other things. But--well, there's a lot of strange things in the ocean, and even evolved they're just as strange.
(And unlike other people who will greet Marina today, Venus doesn't laugh at her, which helps a lot.)]
I like yours, too. And your--wings? [It's rude to ask what someone is, so she's not going to, but Marina doesn't think she's seen any sentient creature who evolved from a bird, which is what she's assuming is what she's looking at here.] Do you live around here?
no subject
[ nailed it. she laughs, a bit sheepishly, before answering marina's question. ]
Sort of. I mean, I guess I do now? I've been here for... three months. Ish? I think?

[ well, that was a lot to just dump on marina. she focuses her gaze on the octoling again, smiling a bit awkwardly. ]
So it could be any of that. Or not.

[ yeah, someone's late to the "humanity is extinct" party. venus laughs after a moment, trying to sort things out mentally. ]
So, uh, I'm guessing... you're from the future? Because there's still a lot of humans where I'm- when I'm from. Like, three and a half billion? I think? Or was it six...
