[ 1; Chapel; ]

[ Kanan makes his way into the nearest quiet room from where he woke up - this place feels all wrong to him, and he's not sure why. Meditation, though - that's what he needs. He needs to calm himself, center himself, and - all unknowing - he chooses the chapel to do so.

Settling in, legs tucked under him on the floor, he takes a few deep breaths, and then reaches out - to the web of energy that connects all life - and finds -

Well, he finds Ezra quickly enough, their bond as strong as it ever is, and he's nearby, Kanan can tell, and that's reassuring. But the others...

Usually, no matter how far apart they are, on opposite ends of the galaxy even, Kanan can reach out through the Force and sense his family. He can find Sabine and Zeb and Hera (not a day has gone by in almost ten years that he hasn't been able to sense Hera) but today... today they're gone, and it distresses him. He doesn't allow himself to panic, but it unmoors him a little, weakens his concentration.

Nonetheless, he can certainly sense anyone who approaches him. ]

I don't suppose you can tell me who's responsible for bringing us here?

[ B; Mess hall ]

[ Kanan is at least good enough at following his nose to make his way to where most of the food is kept. Of course, that doesn't mean the food is any good, or edible for him. Or that he can figure out what it even is, given that he's blind and therefore has to rely on his other senses. ]

Okay, just answer me one question: is there something here other than protein milk and ration bars?

[ ah, okay. Bodhi then takes Kanan's hand in a firm shake - just below the wrist and extending above is cool metal in place of warm flesh. ] No, actually. I'd never even heard of it, until getting here.

[ he's silent, for a moment. thinking of home. force, he misses it. ]

I'm from Jedha. I wouldn't be surprised if you've never heard of it, most of everyone I've met seems to be from Earth or Mars.

[ The name Jedha gives him a start - he certainly recognizes it. He wasn't expecting to hear a recognizable planet name, and that's what's surprising. ]

I've definitely heard of Jedha.

[ Anyone raised in the Jedi Order has heard of Jedha - one of the oldest and most sacred planets to the Jedi. ]

Never been, though. I hear the temples are impressive.

You have? [ yes, Bodhi is surprised by that one. not too many people have been able to respond with familiarity, even only in passing. one more person from the same place, it'd appear.

but... ]

They are. Were. Or so I was told.

[ as he was on the young side when the Empire took the city over, he doesn't remember all that well. ]

[ He's a little bit more careful about his next question - he doesn't want to assume anything, especially after what Ezra's told him about timeline stuff here, but he's curious to find out more, too.

And also hopes he hasn't accidentally stumbled across an Imp. ]

though Bodhi still wears his association, out of little more than quiet symbolism. a reminder.

right now that reminder is heavy with guilt. ]

You're not wrong. It was the Empire, yes.

[ He gets a sense that this guy isn't terribly sympathetic, then. Good. He'd hate to have to punch someone in the face on a first meeting. ]

They tend to wreck everything they touch, don't they.

That they do. [ he drops into silence, looking down at the ground and taking a moment to gather his thoughts back into some sense of things. Bodhi clears his throat. ]

So, uh. When are you from?

[ because that's a question he'll never get used to needing to ask people. not where, but when. ]

[ Kanan has to laugh a little at that - because yeah, when is definitely a more pertinent question than where. Good one, Bodhi. ]

Ah, we just evacuated Atollon - we had a base there for a while but the Empire destroyed it. Barely made it out with our lives.

[onlydoubts]

Atollon... base? Oh. [ base. rebellion. ] I wasn't there for long, but we were on Yavin 4, for a while. [ hold up, that probably puts him before him, if Bodhi is right about this. ] You wouldn't happen to know a Lieutenant Commander Ezra Bridger, would you?

[ Kanan's smile grows a little. ]

He's my Padawan. Glad to hear he's been making friends.
