Bellamy + Murphy; a tearful reunion certainly
Clarke? [ Murphy calls down the halls as he limps along, keeping close to the wall to use it as a brace. This wound is going to start looking really ugly by the time he gets to a medbay. ] Bellamy? Emori?
[ making it down to deck 3, Murphy finally spots something promising - the fluffy, dark haired head of bellamy blake. not quite as fluffy as he'd been before, but Bellamy none the less. ] Bellamy! Hey!
[ his hobbling speeds up a little (not much), and by the time he gets there and Bellamy's turned his face to him, Murphy lets out a short, barked laugh. ] Thank god, someone finally convinced you to shave the grief 'stache.
100%
He blinks at the laugh and the quip, frowning as always.]
What are you talking about? What happened to you?
no subject
I got shot. Almost died? Glad it was so memorable for you. [ speaking of, murphy tugs at the collar of his jumpsuit, pulling it over enough to inspect the bandage on his shoulder, that's now blotched dark brown and red. maybe he pulled one of the stitches, aaaaawesome. ]
Look, have you seen any of the others around? Clarke, or Jackson, or Abby? [ someone who knows how to do stitches. glancing around, murphy realizes he has no idea if the cryopods themselves made it here or not. ] If this is part of the Eligius, I never saw it before today...
no subject
I haven't seen them. Where the hell were you? How did you get shot?
[Please explain what in the world is going on, Murphy.]
no subject
Two decks up. I just woke up, not like I was running around picking flowers. [ chill, broski. also what the hell with this 'how did you get shot' thing? homie's about to get punched. ] Really, Bellamy? I tripped and fell on a machine gun, twice.
[ but, in a crisis like this, even hippy!dad bellamy doesn't start joking like that, and if he actually doesn't remember murphy getting shot, that's a problem. concern starts to deepen on murphy's features, giving bellamy a sidelong look. ] What's going on with you?
no subject
Other than waking up here? I'm fine. Who shot you? [And then, after a split second's pause:] Who treated you?
[Because most people don't just hobble around directly after being shot. Usually.]
no subject
The prisoners from Eligius shot me. In the battle for the Valley. We drove the rover up to take out the cannons, and I was putting down cover fire for you and Echo. When we got back on the ship, Jackson treated me. [ What's the last thing he remembers of Bellamy? The talk in the Eligius command center, he'd seemed fine. He was one of the last ones in cyro after putting his sister in. Maybe something happened in cyro to mess with his memories? ] You seriously don't remember that? The Valley, the Eligius, Octavia and Wonkru?
[ surely he'd remember Octavia and that entire mess, right? unless he had some kind of, what, mental break? blocked it all out? after mccreary's bomb, things weren't really any more terrible than they'd been after the death wave, but maybe the stress just finally cracked him. ]
What's the last thing you do remember happening?
no subject
I don't know what you're talking about. We just got back from Mount Weather.
[And, then because of course his sister takes precedence:]
Where's Octavia? Is she okay?
no subject
That was over six years ago, man...
[ it's soft, and it's careful, and he's watching bellamy like he might explode any second.
right, octavia, old bellamy couldn't walk two steps without having a shit fit over her. god, there's so much he's missing, so much he'd changed since then. especially between the two of them, and murphy's suddenly feeling very distant here. ]
Octavia's fine. She was grounder queen for a while, but — [ that's a much longer story. ] It's complicated. She's good.
no subject
You're saying... six years were wiped out of my head? How?
[There's no way. Right?]
no subject
No idea, I'm as lost as you are here. [ holding out his arms, murphy shrugs, helpless. ] There was a bomb dropping, so we loaded into the dropship from this bigger ship, Eligius, and left the ground. The Eligius had cryopods, and we knew it'd be another decade maybe until stuff started growing back, but since we didn't have the food stores to wait it out, we went into cryo.
Passed out there, woke up here.
[ simple as that. none of the prisoners ever reported having memory issues with the cryopods, and the only sickness they carried was from mining, not the transportation. maybe they were damaged at some point along the way? maybe someone sabotaged them? it's impossible to tell. ]
Honestly, Bell, do I look 17 to you anymore? Not even I could make up insane bullshit like this. [ it's all the fucking ground, and their terrible ass lives. ]
no subject
[This is a lot.]
What's the Eligius? Why were we in space in the first place?
no subject
[ and murphy takes that second to check some of the messages, respond to some, one of the voices coming through will be Clarke's, and Bellamy can overhear him asking her for the year, shooting Bellamy a grim look with the answer. ]
We gotta go get Emori. You don't know her, but you were like a dad to her the last six years, so... be nice.
[ be not your current self. despite how much Murphy lost his shit over the bonding the rest of Spacekru did with Emori, he knows how incredibly important those family ties are to her. Belonging, love, acceptance. Bellamy not remembering her is going to break her heart. ]
I'll do story telling while we walk. Clarke's meeting us there.
no subject
Clarke's here? Where is she?
[He'll deal with Emori later, who he's now assuming is an actual child, considering he's a ripe old 23 years old and all.]
no subject
She didn't say. She'll be at the bar.
[ with Emori, where we are going now. Murphy starts to walk, well, limp, and if Bellamy walks with him, he'll be stretching out an arm to put some weight on him. helps them all go faster, and bellamy can just bite him if he's not happy about it. ]
So, Mount Weather. Okay. You know Jaha didn't eat it like we all wished he did by now, right? Took his cult friends and ran off to find his cult fantasy city? [ Maybe he didn't know that was exactly why, but yeah, there it is. ] Turns out, surprise surprise, he makes everything a whole hell of a lot worse.
[ a beat, and Murphy stops for a second, because this is going to be a big one. ]
It wasn't a war that ended the world. It was an AI, called ALIE. [ and one stupid person's stupid mistake. ] It went nuts, decided the solution to over-population was 'too many people'. She launched the nukes.
And Jaha brought her back.
no subject
And I'm guessing he thought he had a great reason.
no subject
So, Jaha basically gets everyone brainwashed by her, besides a few of us. You, me, your sister, Miller, Clarke. [ there's a vague, flippant gesture. some people. doesn't really matter. ] They eat a computer chip and it puts them in this VR she calls the City of Light. Erases pain and death and, you know, important memories that might hurt, like Raven forgot about Finn. Brainwashed, you get it.
[ he's hoping you get it, because he wasn't actually ever in the city of light and he just knows what the others told him. ] Good news is, we killed the bitch. Bad news, she was trying to load everyone in there because we were all about to die anyway.
[ Murphy pauses, looking up to Bellamy to make sure he's still following. Yes? Hopefully? Good. ]
A hundred years after the nukes, the reactors in all the nuclear power plants around the world start melting down. There was a massive, radioactive death wave sweeping over everything. So, new problem.
no subject
[Seems logical enough. Bellamy is trying to shut himself down—take this story for what it is rather than thinking about it. He just got out of the nightmare that was Mount Weather. Knowing things only get worse isn't great.]
no subject
[ "basically" leaves out a lot of stuff, but honestly, it's a lot better that way. ]
You, me, Emori, Monty, Harper, Raven and Echo. [ and he's not touching Echo either on that, not all that Echo means, anyway. Just someone who happened to be there and helped them out. That's the story. ] Everyone else went down into a bunker on the ground — and they're fine, they just didn't have to go the long way like we did.
[ should he go into why? about raven and all that? nah, not that important. ]
Problem was, we used up all the fuel we had getting up to the Go-Sci Ring, but we had five years to wait for the radiation to clear out and the freaking Earth to grow back anyway, so Raven figured we'd find a work around. Well, we didn't.
But, on year six, another ship showed up out've nowhere. Some miners that were sent off 200 years back. That was the Eligius, and that's how we got back to the ground.
no subject
What about the bunker? How many people made it?
no subject
You sure you wanna know?
no subject
It was that bad?
no subject
Of every human that was left on the ground before the death wave? Yeah, pretty bad.
no subject
We need to figure out how many of us are here and get home.
no subject
So far, I've only heard from Emori and Clarke. If there's anyone else, they either didn't hear me, or don't know how to work a radio. [ which, grounders, so it's possible. ]
no subject
We find Emori and Clarke and then sweep the rest of the station. Make sure there are no stragglers.
[Of course, there's also the question of if anyone else is being held somewhere out of sight, but that's a bridge they can cross when they're all together.]
no subject
[ because, you know, he's barely making it hobbling as he is. you don't want him scouting the entire station. or, rather, clarke won't want him doing it. ]
Emori + whoever finds her out of y'all
[The man she speaks to says nothing to her, just continues to drink. Emori hides her hand behind her back and finds a corner to stand in, until she can think of what to do next. If the rest of Spacekru is here, she shouldn't move. She watches the room carefully, and wonders if anyone has anything valuable on them.
She spots the door and starts to walk towards it-- she can't just wait to be saved.]
hark it is the murphamy cavalry
well, murphy's stumbling, because he's kind of a gimp right now, and bellamy stumbling because murphy's pulling on his jacket to try to keep himself from falling over. it only takes a quick (frantic? nah) scan of the room for his eyes to find her, and there's another jerk on bellamy's jacket. this way, my brain damaged dude. ]
Emori! Hey, [ hobbling over, he takes advantages of many chairs at many tables, plopping down beside her, and launching sort of straight into some different breaking news. ]
So, don't freak out, but Bellamy's head is kind of wrong, memory-wise. Fine otherwise, we're just having... [ a glance back and up to the man in question, and back to Emori. ] Difficulties.
no subject
Guess who doesn't recognize the girl they're meeting at all? This guy. Murphy seems exceptionally fond of her, though, judging by the fact that he greats her with something besides aggressive sarcasm. Bellamy doesn't sit, just stops near the table and crosses his arms in that way he always does when he's uncomfortable, frowning at Murphy's oh so delicate introduction.]
Difficulties.
[Sure, that's a word. And then, to Emori:]
I don't know who you are.
SORRY I WENT TO BED :B
[She gives Murphy a look as if he's the one who did this to Bellamy. Emori takes a seat across from Murphy and gestures to an empty chair.] Well, I'm Emori.
NO WORRIES BEAN!!
Dude. Really? [ don't be an asshole about it, bellamy, she adored you, you fuck. and now she's looking at murphy like he personally knocked the memories out of his head, and he holds out his arms defensively, like saying 'what the hell did i do?' ]
What? I just found him like this.
no subject
[You're welcome, Murphy! Bellamy sighs, trying to get himself to soften a bit, at least towards Emori. As wound up as he is, this isn't her fault.]
He said I'm missing about six years.
[So that's great.]
no subject
[She pauses to think, trying to remember his stories.] Do you hate grounders? Because I'm a grounder. [She traces the tattoo on her face.] I was cast out though, and in the six years on the ring, I became part of Spacekru.
no subject
honestly, murphy can't really remember if bellamy hates grounders or not at this point. there was that whole thing with pike while ALIE was out, right? but he's from a point in time where Murphy was nowhere near him. it could easily be the truth. the questions she asks him are loaded, bitterness laced in them, and murphy reaches out, touching her arm lightly. ]
Hey. We'll figure it out soon as we can, okay? He'll be back to normal and this'll just be a weird hiccup.
no subject
[Not all of them. Not Lincoln and Indra, certainly.]
Your commander left us all to die.
[And that's the crux of it. But Bellamy knows what she's really asking—if he hates her. And, looking at her, so clearly broken up about his missing memories, of course he can't. It's clear she means something to Murphy, and from what Murphy says, she meant something to him, too. Or will.
He hesitates, then continues a bit more softly.]
I'm sorry I don't remember you.
no subject
[ Murphy snaps, because don't lump her in with them, Bellamy, it's not okay. ]
She wasn't with any kru before us.
no subject
honestly she doesn't trust him not to have injured himself further for whatever stupid reason was so much more important. she does eventually makes her way towards the bar with the supplies she needs in hand, just barely being able to overhear murphy to know he's already inside when she calls out]
Murphy? Okay, I'm here and I brought everything I needed from the medbay to— [it's not until she moves to venture further into the bar that notices bellamy was here too, catching her completely off guard that she freezes in her tracks, stopping midsentence. she had already been expecting murphy but he definitely neglected to tell her that bellamy was with him too which only added to making this very awkward]
no subject
Then there's Clarke and Emori has the urge to wave but doesn't. Clarke switched sides so many times during the war for the valley, Emori had no idea what she'd be now. Clarke freezes and Emori finally speaks up] I'm the reason John probably tore his stitches.
[That wasn't bragging. Or was it? HM. Slowly, she follows Clarke's eye line to Bellamy. More of this, then?]
no subject
Clarke.
[It's clear in an instant, from the way her expression shifts when she turns away from Murphy and spots him, that she wasn't expecting him either. More than that, she isn't pleased to see him. He tries to keep the hurt from showing on his face, but fails.]
Are you okay?
no subject
she knew it was stupid on her part that she didn't even consider anyone outside of herself being here since she was so focused on how being in this place guaranteed she would be as far away from her people as she could be so learning otherwise only heightened her concerns. she could afford to be here for however long that would be but bellamy? he should be back home and with their people and that was the reason she didn't look quite as pleased to see him and she was in no way mentally prepared for it either.
it doesn't escape her notice how hurt he looks and it makes her heart ache from how she is hyper aware of the fact it is because her. it had been a week and even seeing him this soon now after she had resolved to leave is too much for her that she is itching to leave and not deal with any of this but she knows she can't given that she came specifically to help patch up murphy with his injuries.
she was so focused on bellamy for a moment that she doesn't even acknowledge emori just yet because she is too caught up trying to figure out how to answer his question. it was definitely loaded and there was a lot she wanted to say but forces herself to stay composed and give a brief but slightly hesitant response] I'm— yeah, I'm okay.
[it's not long after that she finally does turn her glance murphy and emori, pushing herself forward to approach them near the counter where they are standing before she places the first aid kit on top] And you must be Emori? [if anything the lack of recognition is clear enough with her slightly rhetorical question]
no subject
[ may as well get all the damage done at once, right? right. but no, he hadn't told clarke bellamy was here, because unlike emori, murphy was around for or at least aware of all the times her and bellamy's relationship got rocky. he wasn't sure where in the wrong year she gave him her memories were, but better to play it safe. sorry, friend. ]
So, here's the problem we're having. [ that other thing he wouldn't tell you over the radio? yeah. ] The last thing Emori and I remember is all of us crawling into cryo pods, in the year 2156. The last thing Bellamy remembers is getting everyone out've Mount Weather. Over six years ago, for us.
Whatever happened in those cryo pods, you guys are missing a lot of time from your memories.
no subject
She waves her hand, still hiding the mutated one under a table. Not ashamed, just didn't want any questions about it. If people were rude enough to ask questions.] That's me. Emori.
[She looks to John, remembering small stories about Mount Weather. Bellamy didn't like to talk about it much when they were in space. Just that their blood was taken against their will. Fuck that shit. When John's done talking, Emori pipes up with] And that sucks.
no subject
You think the cryopods did it? Not something on the station?
no subject
It seems more likely that it's something on this station. [she remembers what it was like being in mount weather so she wouldn't be surprised if this was all part of some messed up experiment. she turns to look towards murphy and while she has to admit he looks different, it still feels like too much of a stretch for her to believe she is missing six years of memories when she doesn't even look that much older herself or bellamy for that matter either]
