If you could only see the beast you've made of me
» WHO? Garion and you
» WHEN? just after he wakes up near the gym
» WHERE? Around (basically anywhere public is fair game)
» WHAT? There's a wolf walking around the station
» WARNINGS? None so far. Happy to use [ ] for any replies.
There is a wolf wandering around the station. A large wolf. A large white wolf with blue eyes.
Because he woke up in a chamber near the gym, that's where he's likely to be found, but he's wandering now, trying to sniff out something, anything, to tell him what's going on. Now, of course, he's not just a wolf. He's also a man by the name of Garion (or Belgarion, technically) but given that a wolf can cover distances much faster than a human can, that he'll have the advantage of a nose that can sniff out nearly anything on his muzzle, and the fact that between his teeth and his claws, he'll have more a weapon in that form should he encounter anything dangerous...
He's always scouted as a wolf. Really, this is no change. Or he tries to remind himself it's very little change, even though he can't sense his Aunt Pol or his Grandfather or even Durnik anywhere. Even though his wife is nowhere to be found and he can't smell her, not even on his own skin, not on the clothing he woke up in. Neither his wife nor his children and it's upsetting on two legs, but on four, it just gives him a sense of urgency.
So if you happen to see a rather large white wolf near the mess or the bar area or one of the crew quarters or just in the hallways, well...
He's as new to this as you are.

He's as new to this as you are.

"I don't suppose you've seen a black haired woman with a streak in her hair. Or a red haired woman with two children? Perhaps a grey bearded older man?"
no subject
"Should I spot them, I shall inform you."
Oh. But... Rhea'li raises the arm with the network device encircling his wrist.
"Do you have one?" He points at the device.
It's like a more complicated linkpearl as far as he's concerned. But the woman he met on the Observation Deck -- the one he forgot to obtain the name of after he unintentionally incurred her wrath -- did have a point that information flows through the device, so learning how to use the technology would be a boon.
no subject
"I have no idea what this is, exactly."
It'd been talking but not with anything useful.
no subject
He's... definitely not the best person to explain the wonders of unfamiliar technology. But he'll try, in the absence of anyone else more suitable at this present moment.
"I'm much the same," he admits with a wry twist of his mouth. "But this device can be used to communicate with others here. I was taught its basics, if you wish to learn."
no subject
"Garion, incidentally. I realized just a moment ago I've been rude."
no subject
His name sounds remarkably similar to 'really'.
no subject
Yes, really, they've both been rude so....
no subject
If he isn't stopped, he will launch into a basic rundown of the device's functions, starting with reading/listening/watching content on the network.
no subject
"Thank you."
He looks down at the device.
"It seems quite a bit more useful to me now. Though I'm curious as to how they might work."
They'd be very helpful where he's from, in his estimation. If he ever gets back there.
no subject
"Mayhaps the one who taught me would know." The... android? If he hadn't told Rhea'li he was mechanical, he never would have known. "His name is Nine Ess."
no subject
no subject
"His appearance is much like a young Hyur. Or... human, is the name he used." Apparently that's a more common term? "His hair is much like mine, though his face is without my markings."
no subject
A pause before-
"Does he have your ears and tail as well?"
no subject
"Pray return to the Waking Sands."A shake of his head. "He is like yourself in that regard."
no subject
"So if I'm a Hyur, what would your people be called, if you don't mind me asking?"
no subject
"A Miqo'te." He doesn't mind at all, though he's discovering that many find his appearance unusual. "I suppose our kind aren't present in your world?"
no subject
no subject
Tilting his head, he asks, "Danger from the wildlife?"
no subject
"They throw very big rocks. Or they eat people."
no subject
A small smile. "I suppose they throw rocks and eat people, too."
no subject
no subject
"You are an adventurer, then? Or merely a traveller?"
no subject
no subject
"Then might you share some stories?" He waves his hands as he speaks, the tips of his ears twitching. "One does not travel and have nary a tale to tell!"
