early morning stargazing; open

» WHO? a new arrival, and, potentially, you?
» WHEN? the morning after the drinking party
» WHERE? observation deck, deck one
» WHAT? intro pooooooost
» WARNINGS? nah!

[good morning, reverie terminal. did you sleep well? still nursing that hangover? well, if you take a stroll over to the observation deck, you'll see a young man you haven't seen before with his hands and face pressed to the window, gazing in awe at the stars and the early morning sun. actually, that's probably not healthy, come to think of it. and on top of that, he's talking to himself. cool cool cool, that's totally normal.]

How beautiful... the stars are truly a font of inspiration. I could never have imagined I'd see such a magnificent sight... and here I am, without my sketchbook. This is a cruel irony, indeed.

[he pauses for a moment, then digs in the pocket of his jumpsuit, and pulls out... a pen!]

This will have to do for now.

[and he proceeds to roll up his sleeve and starts drawing on his arm.]

I haven't met anyone that has found it familiar. Many have lived in space before but none seem to know where we are.

( which still seemed very strange )

I would lean more to confusing. ( perhaps worrying, but that's just her ) If this was able to be done what else could happen to us?

Yes. Greatly. ( and she's not afraid to admit it ) Knowing so little about the place that we are-- ( space, not their precise location ) --leaves me unable to expect what is possible.

( vanessa is too familiar with predicting futures, with prophecies. there still felt, to her, a difference in the unknown of the future and of being somewhere foreign )

Have you travelled before? Somewhere you knew little about?

( she doesn't question him on it, charging along with her point )

The unknown feeling of a place is different to the unknown of the future.

No doubt most would say the same.

( unless you're someone, like her, that does look into the future )

This is perhaps the one unknown place that doesn't cause joy in exploring it.

Vanessa Ives.

May I ask what you've heard about the danger?

( she'd obviously heard of some but the more they knew the better )

( vanessa hadn't heard of either of those options but: ) After I arrived I became trapped in a wall. It was only temporary though the fact that it became like a liquid concerns me.

No. ( thankfully, though it had been a frightening ordeal ) For some reason the the wall became liquid again, allowing my freedom.

( vanessa gives a nod ) It hasn't happened since but that does not mean that it will not. If only we could find a cause for it.
