[There are lot of things he wasn't expecting to find on this station. Like a Loth-cat, for example. Or a kyber crystal, for a more recent one. Once he had found it, though, he immediately set to building a new lightsaber for himself, gathering parts from old tech lying around. Yellow's not exactly his color, but it did call to him all the same. Other than that, he's gone for a standard build resembling his last one. No blaster sabers here!

And now in the gym, it's finally time for him to test it. Ezra ignites the blade and grins at the familiar sight and sound. Like Ahsoka taught him, he's plenty powerful without his lightsaber, but still it sure does feel nice to have one.

He starts going through his basic forms, remembering his time training with Kanan and Sabine. It's... definitely a little lonely like this. But rather than dwell on it, he throws himself into his practice.]

[ He returns to the gym in search of cleaning supplies--anything, really, that can be used to sterilize the tools he'd found scattered across his room upon waking--and pauses when he hears the soft crackle of a weapon being ignited, turns toward the sound. ]

That blade, [ his gaze follows the movements as Ezra works his way through several familiar kata, ] How did you come by it?

[merging]

[His left foot slips slightly at the interruption, but he quickly corrects it.]

I built it.

[Which he says like, duh. Unless in the future no one's building their own lightsabers?]

Not sure if there are any other kyber crystals lying around, though.

Fortunate, then, that it would appear now. [ If nothing else he's sure that if Ezra had had it during their initial meeting, the conversation would have ended quite differently.

Even so, with the sheer volume of weird shit that's been happening lately it seemed that it would be better to have a weapon than to do without. ]

Was it always yellow? [ A rare color, regardless. ]

[merging]

My first one was blue. [Then it got destroyed by Darth Vader.] Second one was green.

[Which ended up with Sabine. Ezra begins going through the motions of Form IV, with Anakin's little twists on it.]

Guess third time's the charm?

The ancient Jedi believed the color was indicative of a Jedi's chosen focus. [ Blue for those that engaged with the Force physically, green for those that studied its mysteries; yellow representing the tenuous balance between the two.

Of course, he had no way of being sure of the idea's credence. Revan was probably better suited to answer. ]

You said you fought Vader.

[merging]

[Well, he's not gonna admit that Kanan never taught him that, even though he's curious to know more. Maybe he can ask Revan later, since he already knows his training was a little limited.]

Yeah, what about it?

[Fought's a very generous term.]

You must have quite the talent.

[ Something in the way Ezra hesitates, almost too quick to catch, tells him that there was more to the story. Details that Ezra had (wisely) held back. ]
