Hello.
Following @gallowsCalibrator's uploading of the replicator manual, I've decided to see what I can't do to amend their current issues.
If you're interested in lending your hand or have a reasonably equivalent understanding of technology and mechanical work, I'll be available in the mess hall intermittently until they're repaired.
Thank you.
[ OOC: The replicators will take AROUND THREE (3) WEEKS to fix. That means that, as of 6/29, daily work will complete its repairs around 7/20. This is provided new events don't set them back. Additionally, here are the further specifications from the mods:
Please feel free to top-level as you'd like! ]

A. They need several, clever individuals to fix and suss out the mechanical beasts with the manual. If your character has somewhat technologically equivalent mechanical skills (like fixing a computer or other electronics), this'd be aces.
B. If your character wants to help but isn't on the necessary technological and mechanical level, then please feel free to enter The Board of Taste-Testers. Or, I guess, get in the way more than help lol.
C. If your character is down for neither of these things and just wants to peep what they're up to or provide some encouragement or hassle them? Go for it. The Station is your... Oyster. Space oyster.
D. The results after making repairs will be the following: better overall flavor (though it won't be perfect), texture restoration (though, it will always lack the perfect texture and will always be a little grey), and the alcohol will taste less like jet fuel and more like some lower shelf brews.
Please feel free to top-level as you'd like! ]

[ At some point — or perhaps at any point — Ryo can be found elbow deep in the mechanical bowels of the replicator, seemingly unaware of anyone or anything around him. In the days he spends here, he exchanges his white attire for the standard issue jumpsuit, sleeves pushed up past his elbows and rolled to keep them there. For those who first encounter him here, he has no trouble reaching what he needs or peering in. He's a tall, lithe thing — he stands head and shoulders above or pairs many of the adults here.
Even still, he seems to take notice of anyone who moves in his periphery if the way the blue of his eyes lands on whoever is shuffling components apart or back in nearest to him. His mouth dips into a frown, one pale hand lifting from the guts of the machine to gesture at whatever they're holding in their hands. ]
Don't place those there, [ he starts, attention shifting to what they have before he returns to his work. His skin and nails are somehow immaculate despite the fact there's enough grime to stain most anyone who dares to get near there. ] Scrub them first.
[ It's sound advice. How did he even notice that quickly that they were that dirty? ]
II.
[ Or, maybe he's found punching in a series of codes to get decent range of food. Depending upon the week, it spans from typically bland to something pretty decent. Either way, he's laid out more than a few samples on a nearby table for anyone to try. He doesn't really seem to care nearly as much as the rest of the crew about it, but he seems determined to solve the issues with the replicators regardless.
Anyone passing by close enough gets an absent wave of his free hand toward the plates he's arranged, his attention fixed on the replicator. His eyebrows knit as he adjusts another wire, confers with the manual that's projected up from his communicator. ]
Take what you like, [ he says, level and distracted. ] If you could tell me how it is, I'd appreciate it.

[ At least once during this span, Ryo keeps at the replicators for longer than perhaps reasonable. No matter how many times anyone leaves and comes back, he's still there and running codes or making minor adjustments. He has an impressive assortment of coffee cups filed on the nearest available surface, but that amount of caffeine doesn't seem to have a negative impact on how steady he is.
In fact, he just... Keeps going.
Is he ever going to leave? Holy shit. ]

Adrian "Alucard" Ţepeş | OTA
[While Alucard already has been attempting to study the replicators, actually having sound help with them is greatly appreciated. He doesn't question the message from Ryo and instead is quietly grateful he's opted to organize this. Thus far, the young man is only earning his respect.
At the moment, Alucard is reading the manual as he goes, unconcerned about his hands getting dirty as he's working on the mess of machinery. Normally he'd prefer to wear his own personal clothing, but the jumpsuit seems best in a case like this.
Next to him is a tall jug seemingly filled with blood. Alucard pauses every once in awhile to take a long, long steady drink from it before he's returning to work.]
Mm. Still terrible.
[gonna drink it anyway]

Jun Kurosu | OTA
[Jun had taken a little while to get out here. Honestly, he didn't like to be social, and he didn't like to work with other people. At some point, however, the fact that he needed somewhat decent food if he wasn't just going to start starving himself overruled his hesitance to be around other people.
And so he found himself in the mess hall, the sleeves of his jumpsuit rolled up as he approached the machines. He pulled up the manual that had been distributed by that one person on the network with the... colorful way of typing, then looked around.]
Have we any tools for use on such machines, or is this going to be all by hand?
[Things would be nice. Jun wasn't the sort to care for getting any kind of a mess on him, but if it would make something more edible come out of the damn things, he will sacrifice his own comfort temporarily.]
II.
[He needed to take a break. Jun wasn't in great shape as it was, and honestly he felt stupid to be putting so much of his energy into this rather than finding a way off of the station, but sustenance was important in the meantime.
Stepping away from the work he was doing, Jun left the room to wash his hands before returning to grab something from the replicators. Something simple, an omelette and orange juice. It was his favorite food, but he wasn't looking forward to it as much as usual.
Jun takes a bite, wrinkling his nose a little.]
You can tell it isn't right... How awful.
[He was going to have to force himself to stomach it. There was nothing more he could do until after he ate anyway. After a moment, he looked up to try to find anyone else.]
Have you noticed that any foods in particular work better or worse?

A; 7/10ish after music hell
He lets out a thoughtful noise, poking his head into Tatsuya's business.]
I can double check if you want?
no subject
[ Tatsuya looks up with a start. He hadn't realized anyone was close enough to hear him— he'd been pretty absorbed in what he was doing. But he nods at the question, a serious look on his face. ]
Could you? That would make this easier.
no subject
He finally leans back, tapping at a specific piece in general.]
It looks like this one's cracked at the base... Do we have any replacement parts?
no subject
I'll have to go check... I know I don't have anything close by. Maybe we can jury-rig a workaround until I can check and make sure. It wouldn't be good for the long-term obviously, but as a temporary measure....
no subject
We might be able to fuse the crack shut if we apply some heat. It's not perfect, but it'll probably work for now?
no subject
[ Tatsuya wobbles his hand back and forth. ]
...makeshift improvisational thing. A temporary fix, usually. I think that what you suggested should work for now.
no subject
[But hey, he's learned something new today. Now to get back to the problem at hand.]
Now we just need a way to heat this up. Any ideas? I haven't seen any matches lying around.
no subject
[ There's an interested lilt to his voice, but he turns his attention to the task they're supposed to be focusing on— that he is focused on, for the most part. ]
I've got a lighter with me... I don't use it very often, so it should still have plenty of fuel.
no subject
[9S nods, holding his hand out.]
That should work. You know, having combustibles on board is pretty dangerous.
no subject
[ THAT'S SO COOL? ]
As for the lighter.... I know that. But it's precious to me.
no subject
[9S pulls back his hand, giving Tatsuya an uncertain look.]
Uh, would you rather do it? I mean, if it's that important to you...
no subject
You can do it, I didn't get the impression you were going to run off with my lighter.
[ Also, he'd totally stop 9S if he did try. ]
no subject
[With no particular reason for why he's putting so much skepticism into his own trustworthiness, 9S takes the lighter and opens the cap. When flames don't just spontaneously appear, he looks back at Tatsuya.]
Uuhh...I hate to break this to you, but I think it's out of fuel.
no subject
You've never used a lighter before, huh?
[ He clicks the thumbwheel and sparks the zippo. ]
no subject
Huh? Oh, there's a mechanism there... Of course! I guess it's safer that way, huh?
no subject
Yeah, otherwise it'd be too easy to set things on fire. Especially since it unlatches pretty easily.
no subject
[But he already said something like that, didn't he? Well, 9S will just go ahead and gently take the lighter now, and do his best to patch up the part in question. After a couple of minutes he hands the device back, and shows Tatsuya his handwork. It's sufficient.] How's that?
