Sew much fabric
» WHO? Jennifer & You
» WHEN? makes vague hand motions.
» WHERE? Observation area
» WHAT? Jennifer doing some sewing, offering to teach people who might be interested.
» WARNINGS? None yet, will change as needed.
[Even when she was a child, Jennifer hadn't minded chores. The tasks were often her only respite from the other children at the orphanage, and the repetitive tasks often helped her focus. She could let her mind wander a little, think about what needs to be done, what she could do more.
Everyone on this ship was just trying to survive. She didn't have any special powers, or strength to help with fighting, or any skills she could think of that would be particularly helpful with exploring the planet below or anything like that.
So, she sewed. She had torn clothes she'd found to practice on, to keep at least those skills, er, sharp (no pun intended), and repeatedly repairs, re-sews buttons, etc. She evens starts making some cloth dolls out of the scraps.
The first and only time, so far, she sticks herself with the needle, her startled reaction sends the needle flying, forcing Jennifer to carefully crawl about on hands and knees attempting to find it, patting carefully along the ground. Should anyone else come in, Jennifer is quick to look up, eyes wide]
Please watch where you step! I lost a needle, so... um... I'm sorry.
[Please don't get stabbed in the foot or something by accident plEASE]

But he's incredibly more interested in being seen out and about now, making more of an effort to explore his surroundings.
Seeing a familliar face crawling all around the observation deck piques his interests.]
Fear not, mortal. As if such a delicate weapon would be able to penetrate my barrier...
[Hi Jennifer.]

Oh, hello Gundam. [She greets him politely anyhow, smiling slightly.] Be that as it may, I'd still rather not take the chance... But I really do need to find it, it's one of the only needles I have...

How pitiful! Such a quest, it is mere child's play.

Supernova Silver Fox San-D! Now is the time for you to shine!
[San-D springs forth from Gundam's scarf, scouring the floor to locate the needle for Jennifer.]

The needle itself isn't that far from them.] Please be careful! [She doesn't want him sticking his little paws by accident!! But she turns a grateful smile up at Gundam]
Thank you for helping me, Gundam. If you ever need anything repaired or something, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hahaha! Splendid! None could dare question the overhwelming dark power of my Devas after such a display of ferocity!
2/3 i lied
Such a wholesome existence! For a dark being like himself to look into such eyes! It makes his poisonous blood recoil and boil with an unyielding and merciless heat!]

Your concern is not necessary, [she says, in a voice a few shades too robotic to sound reassuring.] It is unlikely that such an implement could penetrate my body’s armor.
[And even if it could, Arid doesn’t bleed. She watches the girl for another beat, seeming to notice her position crawling on the floor. Arid considers for a moment—and then her head tilts just slightly.]
Do you require assistance?
no subject
The question startles her and she wrings her hands uncertainly] Well, I... If it's not too much of a bother, I wouldn't mind the help... [A pause and she adds:] My name is Jennifer.

She steps further into the room, faceplate brightening until it illuminates the patch of floor in front of her in a concentrated beam. That beam of light will pass over the floor in neat lines, back and forth, as Arid searches for the telltale glint of the needle’s edge.
Within a minute, she crouches down to pick something off the floor. When she straightens, she’s holding the needle between two fingers. She offers it to the human, eye-first.]
I have located your needle.
no subject
That was... amazing! Thank you so much! [She smiles gratefully and stands up before taking the needle carefully. She looks from it to Arid, head tilted curiously. She looks a bit hesitant to ask, more afraid that it might come off as rude more than anything else, before she shyly asks]
Are... you an android too?

[Echoes Jasnah, who's in her magboots, and so unafraid of hurting herself- but nervous of bending or breaking it.]
Did you hear where it fell?
no subject
I'll find it as quickly as possible though, so please don't worry. I won't be in your way much longer.
no subject
[Crouching down next to her, to scan the ground.]
Don't apologize for taking up space you're entitled to.

After a moment of just gaping, she seems to realize that she should be saying something and stammers out a:] I-I'm sorry. I don't know what to say to that, I... I don't think anyone's ever told me such a thing before...

let's say this is 7/19-ish
That wasn't to say everything was back to normal. 9S still ached, but it was a contemplative sort. He was thinking, and trying to find meaning in his presence here. He was doing fairly well until something sharp pricked his foot.] Huh?
no subject
S-sit down, quickly! Did it get through your shoe? Oh-- [She wrings her hands anxiously, trying to urge him to sit so she can inspect any damage he might've gotten from this]
no subject
What did I step on, anyway? [9S cranes his neck back as he lifts his foot, getting as good a look at the sole of his shoe as he can manage. There's a needle sticking out of it at an awkward angle, the thing bent flat against his boot.]
no subject
[It's said as both a response and a mild lament as she reaches out to attempt to dislodge it.] It might still be usable, I think, if I can get it out...

Oh, Jennifer!
[He has a small bag in the hand he raises to greet her with, lips curving into one of his friendly-as-usual smiles.]
I have something for you.
no subject
[But that's where the pleasantries end. 'I have something for you' strikes a chord of worry in her and her expression grows hesitant, a little wary.]
What... What is it?
no subject
[He... can't quite help but be a little taken-aback by her hesitance, his own steps slowing. Maybe... he's made the wrong choice? No, there's no way. She's even sewing right now, she'll definitely like this gift!]
Oh, um... I found this in the gym. I thought you'd like to have it.
[He holds out the bag in both hands, offering it for her to take. It's a little sewing kit, a few of the tools engraved with roses.]
no subject
This is-- I... [She stammers a couple of times, speechless as she examines the kit--the roses get a wry sort of look, but even that can't diminish her shock and joy.] And you thought...to give it to me...?
[Jennifer trails off, looking to Hajime with wide, tear-filled eyes which she rapidly blinks away. One hand reaches up to brush them away with her sleeve] I-I'm sorry. I'm just not used to this. I thought there might be-- But it's normal, so... [??? ??? Jennifer what.]
I'm sorry. I love it, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
no subject
Oh! Um...should I step back a little? Do you need help?
no subject
I-I don't want to be a bother. But, the sooner I find the needle the sooner you'll be able to walk freely around here...
