@all (from @r.asuka)

[ On the morning of the 15th, there is a network-wide ping issued approximately twenty-three minutes after the roster is released to the public. ]

Hello.

As I'm certain you all are aware, a roster has been sent to each of our devices. Given that this is yet another item on a growing list to be examined by us all, I believe it's important for each of us to come together to discuss any possible concerns or ideas that may require teamwork.

@PALPATINE and I earlier discussed the possibility of a non-compulsory meeting to sort through these issues. We agreed it would be in our best interests.

If you're inclined, please come to the Mess Hall at 19:00 in three day's time.

[ ooc: so! this will be broken down into sub-headings as discussed on the ooc plot post and utilized as a kind of "catch-all." if you think anything needs to be added at any time, please feel free to contact me through pm, at [plurk.com profile] rasasvada, or on disco at morning star#3715. or, you know, add it yourself! i don't mind.

noticeably, this is self-directed! if you character wants to speak or make a point to everyone, feel free to do so. no one is policing how this goes or making introductory comments or whatever else. open floor, y'all. ]

I've never heard of anything like that. Soy is useful for feeding an army, if necessary, but rock? Rock has no nutritional value.

But it isn't rock. It's grain.

[It takes on every property thereof.]

Or meat, if you use a different stone.

How does that work?

( he's fascinated, which is a good distraction from everything else. )

An infused emerald will create any plant matter, and an infused heliodore any meat or flesh.

I'm unaware of any conclusive research into the cause of the properties of the gems themselves.

That's very different from everything I know about biology and physics. And chemistry.

( he shakes his head a little. it's not disbelief so much as just — letting it sink in. )

Your world may have a more advanced conception of both than mine. A great deal of the knowledge and technology we had has been lost.

[She admits, letting out a breath.]

I'd like to learn more, if you have any background in it?

My background's in botany. It includes some chemistry and biology and a very limited amount of applied physics.

( he offers a slight smile. it falls flat, but at least he tried. )

I don't know how good a teacher I am, but I can try.

Thank you.

[She says, with a small, reserved smile. It's good of him.]

I have a few more people I need to speak to here today. Shall we meet later?

Contact me?

( he indicates the comms device with his chin. )

I don't think any of us are going anywhere for the time being.
veristitalian: (almost but not quite a smile)

[personal profile] veristitalian 2018-06-05 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
I will. Thank you.

[She promises, with a polite nod, before moving away to go chase Kamala about potential scholarship.]
