» WHO? Aqua and A2.
» WHEN? 5/28
» WHERE? Deck 5.
» WHAT? Dirtbot helps grandma learn how to use the Internet.
» WARNINGS? None.
[When Aqua wakes, it takes her some time to adjust. She doesn't remember anything, and the fog over her mind and the odd taste in her mouth dull her cognizance enough that she blearily traces the grooves of the metallic walls with her fingers and tries very hard to think about where she is and what exactly happened.
The device's message is ominous, but only vaguely without context. Is it possibly connected to the Unversed...?
The bottles on the wall don't interest her, meanwhile, and the lack of windows offer no immediate clue. The dreary halls outside of the room yield nothing either, except that she's back in space, and it takes her a deck or so to realize that those are doors lining the worn corridors, but she doesn't investigate them right away. It isn't until she hears...distant talking, which gives her a goal that sharpens her mind. That is, getting information from a native of this world. She's done it many times before, although she's a little warier after what happened in Deep Space (which is her closest experience with a space structure), and approaches quietly. Not that it makes a huge difference, because she can't tell where the strange woman's authority lies even with careful inspection at a distance, though she looks as rough as the rest of the station so far. And she's...muttering gruffly into her wrist, for some reason?
Well, no harm in trying to get her attention. Actually, from what Aqua can see, that device on the woman's wrist reminds Aqua of her own! Weird.]

Hey, are you talking to someone?

Wait, her boys! Aqua nearly jumps right into typing Terra before deciding that might not be the best idea (actually it just feels weird and bad).
Ventus takes its place instead, and the name lights up green with an approving noise.]
It worked!
[Aqua is way too giddy over a username, but this is kind of new and exciting? She beams at sourbot.]
Okay, what next?
[Like, A2 explained that too already...but listen. LISTEN.]
no subject
You can give it a try if you want.
i forgot to say: rest in fucking pieces hypothetical Vens and Vans
[She's on a mission, so efficiency matters!
Honestly, this is so expedient it's half of why she's happy.]
Oh, and do I have to talk into it like you were earlier?
[She didn't forget that!]
no subject
no subject
It might also be faster than typing.]
Let's try talking first.
["Let's" because A2 hasn't left yet and has thus volunteered for her position as co-captain. Aqua sits, also, since she's still feeling a bit bleh.]
no subject
Did you want it to show both of us or just broadcast our voices?
no subject
[She remember this from Deep Space as well! The Grand Councilwoman showed her a frozen image of Jumba and 626 with similar.
Hell, that's way better than the audio post she had in mind! Why didn't A2 mention that?
She did, Aqua, when she said video, but that was lost to the abyss.]That's perfect, actually. It'll help a lot with what I want.
[Get to it, Siri.]
no subject
Go for it.
no subject
And asking bit questions, like which button to hit send, which button for volume, things like that. Doesn't mean A2 will be spared if there's a lull, but Aqua will tend to responses first!
Aqua appreciates the company though.]
no subject
In between Aqua's replies, A2 pipes up, hoping to not be caught on the device.]
Alucard is a vampire apparently. He needs to drink blood to survive, but according to him, he only takes from the willing. [Which is why A2 doesn't have an issue with it so much.]
no subject
Aqua is also astonished to hear that? The blood drinking, mostly. She's not that familiar with vampires.]
I see. Is that why he said what he did about monsters?
[Hm. Darkness isn't always associated with monsters, at any rate, but that's definitely a weird situation. Actually:]
Do you not take him at his word?
no subject
no subject
Are you an authority here?
[Because making sure someone doesn't "step out of line" is very boss-like behavior.]
no subject
Hell no. My programming makes me make sure that no human is being hurt, and I'll kill anyone or anything who tries to do just that.
no subject
But she does gather that A2 isn't human, just like Alucard isn't. This world is all over the place with its inhabitants.]
Alucard said he's from Wallachia.
[On planet Earth, which means...they're somewhere else entirely from his vantage point and hers. What about mystery lady?]
Where are you from? Is this your home?

Aqua is also looking at A2 funny, and sort of hard. She chews on her lip for a good minute, between A2's response and some of the audio ones she'd been given, and turns more fully to A2.]
But...are your worlds the same?
[This is a question Aqua is really hesitant to ask and has honestly been avoiding.
It makes the most sense for her situation but it also makes this situation that much more daunting. That and it's just kind of a weird, meta question on its own.]
ok now go to sleep
No. They're not. Some people are from the same world, but even our "Earth" can be different among everyone here.
no sleep for anyone on any day
As for A2's answer...it makes sense. Too much sense, since A2 knew exactly what Aqua meant. If she hadn't, it would've been easy to dismiss that inkling, but coming to a world with no immediate native inhabitants and a lot of displaced visitors - her included! - roused suspicion in her. It's almost too much to imagine, but then, the Realm of Light was always subject to odd phenomenon. Darkness, Unversed, whatever this may be.
Hey, maybe this is in her jurisdiction after all. Eat it, Kovacs.]
I see.
[She tilts her head back, then to rest it against the cool metal behind her.]
Is there somewhere I can stay?
[Since they're all here for the long haul, apparently.]
its true
[A2 motions for Aqua to follow her, and she'll even patiently wait for her.]
no subject
[Aqua says as she rises to her feet.
For her part, she seems able to navigate alright even when distracted, just a tad more slowly as she trails after A2. One can't have their eyes on every part of the battlefield, after all.
Occasionally she glances up from her device at A2, mostly to confirm she hasn't fallen behind. For a bit, she ends up talking more with the people she can't see than she does with the grungy guide who's right here with her. This is what technology has wrought!!!]
no subject
Thankfully, they make it to an untaken room without Aqua running into any walls. Whether it's with or without A2's help.]
Here. [She opens the door expectantly.]
no subject
Once they arrive, Aqua lowers her wrist, blinking at A2 as if coming out of a daze. Oh! Already?]
Um, thank you.
[She says as she steps through, before seeming to remember something and turning on her heel in the threshold.]
I just realized...I never got your name.
[Should she introduce herself again? She can't remember who she's properly greeted and who she hasn't, now...]
no subject
Do you need help with anything else? [A2 pauses, then shakes her head.] You probably do, if you don't know how to work these.
