[Of course, Connor was able to clearly read the logo from a few feet away because of course he could. The clothing was definitely new and noted as he approached and offered Miller a polite smile.

Connor was also wearing clothing from home. Like Miller, his had very recently appeared as well.]

Star Helix Ceres Station? I didn't realize you'd been in space before. That station -[he indicated the logo]- was it similar to this station?

I'm from space. It's not my fault you never asked. [ he looks around at the question though, expression slightly pensive and hands in his pockets. ] I hate to say it, but Ceres was cleaner.

[ that's a yes okay. your bro knows about station livin'. intimately. maybe that's why he's been so helpful thus far... ]

[Connor's expression remains passive and neutral despite Miller's agitation.]

You were born on a station? Was it that one? [Again, Connor tilts his head, gesturing to the logo.

A hint of a smile pulls at the corner of his mouth.] That doesn't surprise me. This place seems like it was abandoned for at least a decade.

When you were a detective, was that also aboard a station like this?

[ man everyone's favorite toaster sure does ask a lot of questions. miller just barely keeps from rolling his eyes. ]

I was born and raised on Ceres. Never left until a little while before I came here. I went to Eros for the first time, chasing a lead.

So yeah, when I was a detective it was a place just like this.

[Well, he is programmed to help with investigations, asking questions was sort of what he was made to do. That being said, if Miller told him he was being too nosey or talkative, it wouldn't be the first time Connor would have heard that particular criticism.]

That's good. Your experience should be invaluable then. [He was 110% earnest.]

Speaking of, how is the plant room coming along?

[ miller is used to chatty and he's also used to strong silent types. so really this isn't so abnormal. it suits him better than the latter category honestly. ]

Invaluable, sure. If you say so, kid.

It's coming. Without the botanist we'd be even further behind, he's been practically living there since we got in.

[Miller's sarcasm was obvious enough that, for once, it didn't go over Connor's head. Of course, that didn't mean he understood why Miller was being sarcastic. He tilts his head, giving Miller a puzzled look.] You don't believe that your previous experience will be useful?

Hasn't done shit fuck anything for us so far.

[ well, he'd gotten into the plant room but he hasn't made any headway on what happened to his crew or kovacs. or how people come back from the dead. so no, he's feeling altogether useless really. ]

Not bad for a dead guy though, I guess.

Me. I'm the dead guy. [ he feels even less like sugarcoating this for someone who can't even appreciate its significance, supposedly. ] I was in the middle of getting good and dead before this place grabbed me. That's why I'm working so hard to get back.
