Miller knows that look because he sees it in the goddamn mirror every day. He waits for Mike to cycle through it, wanting to laugh at the joke he knows isn't a joke but the urge stalls and he sighs instead.

"Let Bobbie do it then." His arms unwind and he steps to pick up another piece of abandoned garbage. This, in this moment, he can do. "She'd probably get a kick out of it."

"That I'd pay to see." Only not really if it meant Mike was in as bad a way as Kovacs. "I can make her punch and kick you? Is it also my birthday?"

Mike tips his chin down, slanting Miller a look.

"Changed my mind, Alex gets to make the call. Before you sic Bobbie on me for sneezing."

Miller shrugs. "Suit yourself. But I did run a strike team once and no one died. ...Well, except the guy I killed." Sort of, that's not the whole story, but whatever. He could totally be trusted with this!!

Mike actually laughs, grin flashing over his shoulder at Miller.

"Suddenly I'm brimming with confidence."
