Team Door, ASSEMBLE
» WHO? Team Door… that’s EVERYONE because you’re all automatically drafted now, congratulations
» WHEN? Forward dated to 15th June
» WHERE? The door with the porthole on Deck 2
» WHAT? Eight hours’ worth of beating up a door
» WARNINGS? None
Team Door have identified a likely-looking door to attack! This door, located on Deck 2, has a porthole through which some blinking lights can be seen. It’s the most likely-looking door to go for, so this is how things will unfold:

Team Door have identified a likely-looking door to attack! This door, located on Deck 2, has a porthole through which some blinking lights can be seen. It’s the most likely-looking door to go for, so this is how things will unfold:
- Feel free to handwave that Apollo, Kaldur or Amos (or anyone else involved) has been in touch with your character to let them know that door shenanigans are about to go down
- With Amos’s space engineering expertise they manage to depressurise an area around the door, effectively creating a small airlock within a section of the corridor
- The general plan is to overwhelm the door, so that whoever is tackling it first uses whatever force they can to try to open it until they have to tap out from exhaustion, and then they get swapped out for the next person and so on and so forth
- It will then take characters some 8 hours of flinging themselves/their powers at the door. The exhaustion and weakness that comes with attempting to damage the station will increasingly hamper their progress
- There will be no visible progress in the first three hours but eventually cracks will start to appear and on the eighth hour the door will give
- Once the door gives way, the mods will let us know what magical things will be found on the other side... (edit: looks like this will be announced OOCly by the mods before the 15th)
Things of note:
- Edit: explanation of the three sections that make up the corridor-airlock-door sequence of areas (with a handy image too):
- First section is the normal corridors, where people are resting up when they're getting the woozy feelings/getting their orange slices/getting into the suits. This is a normal station environment
- Then there is a second section - the ante room/airlock area where the pressure keeps on cycling to let people in and out so when you get in from the station corridor the pressure is the same
- And then the depressurized area with the door
- Characters can find 15 suits in or near assorted air locks in those areas of the station as is accessible to them at this time
- Characters can go in to the depressurised airlock in teams or in pairs, whatever works best for them
- The longer they keep attacking the door, the more quickly they grow exhausted and unable to access their powers/strength
- Exhaustion + space suits = not a great time for anyone involved
- Use this post to play out as much/as little as you need

How is she...? Why does everyone else need a suit?? Could he get away with just using the jumpsuit and whatever she has over her head? It would certainly be more comfortable than having his tail stuffed down one of the legs of his suit...
But that's when he notices the clear exhaustion and the fact she isn't stopping.
Is it a good idea to grab someone who's glowing and throwing themselves against the door? Probably not.
Does Rhea'li make good decisions, ever? Nah.
Stepping forward when she next draws back, Rhea'li reaches with the hand that isn't occupied with pieces of paper to grab her shoulder. Talking doesn't work so well with the suits, so he tries to get his point across by shaking his head.]

she staggers a few steps back, instinctively creating some space between the two of them, and for a moment she doesn't move from that spot. all of her wide eyes stare unblinking at rhea'li. it's only when she's caught her breath that she responds, nodding slowly before reaching up and gesturing towards the hand that grabbed her.
"are you okay," she mouths from underneath the helmet. ]
no subject
But when she responds to him, Rhea'li squints a little, trying to figure out what exactly she's saying, tilting his head. Damn... he's not very good at reading lips. What is she saying? Uhhh... He glances at his hand. ??? Well... he'll make an attempt.
Shaking his head, he points at her before jerking a thumb over his shoulder to where he'd entered.
Is he seriously going to communicate via
interpretive dancegesture only? Yep.]no subject
she nods, mouths more words- "okay, thank you" - and takes two steps towards the airlock. and promptly falls flat onto her side, only barely managing to twist herself to absorb the blow with her shoulder.
maybe... maybe she's a bit more drained than she thought. ]

When she falls over, Rhea'li thinks, 'that's not good.'
Rhea'li's by her side in an instant. Exhaustion? Definitely looks like exhaustion. He's trying to assess the situation, but he's no healer. It'd be better to get her to Alucard, wouldn't it? Or at the very least, somewhere where they can communicate.
How to get the idea across that he'll carry her? Oh, whatever. He's sure it'll become apparent soon enough. Folding the pages his spells are written on and tucking them between his fingers, he crouches down to pick her up, keeping an eye on her reaction.]

whoever it is in the spacesuit, venus owes him one. not that she really recognizes him? all the eyes in the world don't make seeing into a spacesuit any easier, after all. ]

Speaking of which, he takes his off and sets his aside, and if this stranger doesn't look up to it, reaches to take her bubble bowl off, too.]
Are you well enough to speak?
[ooc: I'm thinking vision next tag?]
no subject
Yeah. Yeah, I, uh- I'm fine. [ she nearly leaves it at that - she's still catching her breath, after all, trying to ignore the stitches of pain in her sides. but she can't just leave some things unspoken, and she stutters out- ] -sorry. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to, you know, just. I nearly hurt you? God. I'm sorry.
no subject
But then she starts apologising and he just shakes his head.]
But you did not, so you have nothing to apologise for.
[Though... a sharp pain lances through his head, and his brings his hand up to his forehead as the familiar sensation of an oncoming vision whisks his mind elsewhere...]

[ her voice fades away into the aether, a ringing pain accompanying it, and suddenly rhea'li is seeing a different world. ]
2/3
neptune is shouting, a hurt fury in her voice. jupiter winces, unable to look her in the eye. ]
You're being good for people that fucking hate you, and you're good even if you say you're not good, because what else kind of person would hate themselves but someone who was really good?!
I'm not-
[ neptune keeps shouting, but she is a background image; blurry, out of focus. venus is the center of attention. he moves down his arm, scratching and digging his nails deep in, impossibly deep, until they snag on something. neptune continues her tirade- ]
I'm so mad, why not martyr yourself for US this time! For YOU! You deserve-
[ -and he pulls with all his might.
there is no pain, no gruesome tearing of skin. the arm is just sloughed off, peachy skin and all, and in its place pure light is left behind. for a moment, venus cannot speak; neptune and jupiter continue arguing, and venus is left alone to admire a body that is actually hers. she speaks quietly, and somehow the others hear, turning to look with expressions somewhere between fear and envy. ]
Found it.
[ like a flower, venus is in bloom. like a heart, venus is beating. like a soul - she is shining like a soul. ]
I am the devil.
[ her arm lies on the floor. it's a pale, bloodless thing. someone else's body now. not hers.
slowly, the echo fades into white. ]
3/3
...you alright? Oh my god. Oh my god? Please say something.
