» WHO? vanessa ives + you
» WHEN? august 18 + the remainder of august
» WHERE? various decks
» WHAT? library adventures, books in strange places
» WARNINGS? none so far

the library
( with the doors to the library finally open bring a small moment of-- almost joy to vanessa. it did little to relieve anything that had happened recently, the disease and the disappearance of a friend, but it certainly provided her with new possibilities. and familiarity.

the first few days see her just exploring the place, seeing what exists. she's drawn to the physical books and though, after discussions, vanessa learns of being able to access the library in a digital format it isn't the same to her. holding a book, the smell of the pages, particularly the age of some of them--

later, as vanessa begins to actually read some of the selection, her choices remain with things familiar to her. the library is expansive, many new things to explore and read, but for the moment she wants something familiar. poetry. though stories are enjoyable she's always found a stronger connection to poetry, to their sentiments.

there's one novel that does appear in her selections, though it's one that vanessa had yet to dare to open. the picture of dorian gray. it's something that she looks at with both bemusement and confusion, curiosity prickling at her. she knew the man -- dated him briefly, though the book had been published before she'd met him. she isn't certain if she wants to read it or not )
observation deck
( the observation deck had become a familiar place, almost comforting in how peaceful it felt. the stars are slowly becoming less concerning. though the dangers of space are still a frightening concept it's easy to distract herself from them. looking at the stars, as strange a distraction as it may seem helps. vanessa had never really been one for spending long periods of time staring at the stars before, knowing little of the constellations, but these are equally unknown.

on some of the occasions, a book will have been sneaked from the library with her. some days it's poetry, vanessa sat by the window as she reads, other days she's opted for something more factual, finding a book on earth's solar system. all vanessa knows is what she has learned from her friends here and though little of the book is making sense there are small parts that she understands, some that are interesting. perhaps she's reading the wrong thing but she'd like to know more )

wildcard
( have something different that you'd like in the library/a different location? leave me a comment or pm and we'll set something up. vanessa also frequently visits the chapel and the plant area. being post-event (stage 4) vanessa will be left with tinges of black on her left hand and a blackened scar that may be noticable on the back of her neck )
